Creating your product, creating the pages isn't the hard part. Starting is you don't know where to start. You're overwhelmed by all the ideas and you want it to be perfect before you share it in the world. So let's stop stalling and get into it. Every missed season is missed sales. Today we're talking about back to school which is one of the biggest buying windows of the year.
[00:02:05]: You have teachers, parents, homeschoolers, all ready to spend their money on helpful printables and resources for their kids. A simple, purposeful printable can stand out, but only if you actually list it. Let's build a product fast. We're going to go through three steps today. We're going to choose your use case, build a simple structured printable and plan it all out before you start designing. So you've got everything ready to go. You're not just choosing a theme randomly, you want to choose your topic based on a customer outcome. Don't just start with the topic, start with what your buyer, the parent or the teacher wants for their child to do or achieve.
[00:03:06]: Since we're focused on back to school theme today, we want to ask who it's for. What skill or experience are they going to provide? How will this printable help them during their back to school transition and their first month or so of being in the classroom? Some examples are to help kids practice their social skills in the new classroom support fine motor skills with a cutting activity Provide low prep morning work to start the day so the teacher can just print and go and be ready. There are a ton of use cases and outcomes that you can do. We want to flip how we start our planning process. We want to start with the end in mind. The parent or teacher has a problem. What does the child need to do to fix that and what can you create to help in that process? An example here is I need a way to keep kids engaged during the first week of school. The child needs to have fun social activities to do so.
[00:04:43]: They are engaged so you can create a Find someone who printable with a bonus journal reflection to get them learning about their classmates and then reflecting on what they've learned. This simple structure sells. You have your core page or pages the main activity you want them to do any bonus pages with variations, different age ranges or an extra layer of activities that you can add. And the COVID and ending page gives your overall product polished and gives you a great starting point for your listing photos three well thought out pages will sell better than 20 rushed ones. You are going for an outcome for your customer, not just a random number of pages. Here is an example of our back to school scavenger hunt. The Activity Page the core page is the Find the item in the classroom intro so that they can explore their classroom and find different things around the room so they know where to go to find things during the school year. And there is the Find someone who page where they can learn about their classmates and then the journal page to reflect on what they've learned about their new teacher, classmates and classroom.
[00:06:31]: And to finish it all off, there is a polished cover page with clip art, a bold title and fun colors. If you want to go the extra mile, you can create a teacher's version or a checklist variation plan before you design in the printable planning sheet that is in your free gift. With this presentation you can answer just a few questions to map out what you need, who it's for, what outcome they're going to achieve, and all of the assets that you'll need to gather before you start creating. So you'll get your templates, your art, and decide who it's for and what they are going to achieve from it and then you'll be ready to start. You don't need to create a 20 page bundle, you don't need a graphic design degree, and you don't need to block off a full day to actually get it finished. All you need is a clear idea a simple structure and a plan before you dive in. So we are going to pick one idea and sketch it out today. Who's it for? What outcome are they going to achieve? What activity or skill is involved and what are three pages that will support that? You can go from idea to product in 30 minutes even during all of your summer chaos.
